Hi, I'm Raye.

I post to express my thoughts, likes/dislikes, and myself. I’m mildly obsessed with matching, I like symmetry, and I could spend hours on things like the introduction of my essays because I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I often have to work twice as hard to achieve things that come to most people naturally. Sometimes I can also get a little competitive and pretty ambitious, but I’m conscious of my flaws, weaknesses, and shortcomings. Moreover, I appreciate those who are honest, sincere, and trustworthy. If you can be all that, I promise that to the best of my ability, I will do the same.

Be at peace
Not in pieces.

Being strong and brave is just the same thing; you’re brave to show your strength, but you’re also brave to show your weaknesses.

The unreal is more powerful than the real, because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. Because it’s only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. Stone crumbles. Wood rots. People, well, they die. But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on.

Your flaws are beautiful. They’re what makes you stand out. Don’t try to be normal, perfect, striving to be something or someone that you will never accomplish. Be annoying, be quirky, be different. In truth, it takes a hell of a lot more strength to resist than to go along with the flow. Stray from the path. What anyone else thinks doesn’t matter. Let them be boring, let them be the same, as unnoticeable as the people around them. Wear flowers in your hair, mismatching socks, and thousands of multi-colored bracelets. Press all those damn buttons in the elevator and piss off everyone around you. Have fun now, because there’s always plenty of time to be boring in the future.

Let your dreams be bigger than your fears, your actions louder than your words, and your faith stronger than your feelings.

Never settle for part-time happiness when full-time fulfillment is right around the corner.

To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket—safe, dark, motionless, airless—it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.

And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.

You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life.

Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don’t know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishing.
